St. Andrews Castle St. Andrews' castle has been occupied alternatively by the English and the Scottish since the early 1300s. It has been the residence of royalty, bishops and archbishops, as well as vengeful armies. The castle was heavily damaged during the Reformation, and has never been fully restored, but the bulk of it remains as a sentinel of history. Address: North Street St Andrews FIF Scotland
